Miami-Dade County Public Schools Graduation Alliance Program Overview

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools Graduation Alliance Program offers students who have disengaged from the district a flexible, and highly supportive alternative pathway to graduation. This unique option provides students with an individualized solution to work toward completing their diploma. Students must have dropped out of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools school district to be eligible for the program and will receive their diploma from Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 

Enrollment

Referring students to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Graduation Alliance Program is a simple process, and approved students are normally contacted within 3 business days of referral. To start, please complete the Student Referral form on this page. Once submitted the following steps will occur:

The Program Manager at Graduation Alliance sends the request to the district contact to check their eligibility for the program. 

Students must have dropped out of school and not be attending elsewhere.

Graduation Alliance is notified of the student's approval and proceeds to contact the student.

Program Details

Graduation Alliance pairs time and place flexibility with a multi-tiered system of supports that includes:

Once enrolled in the program students: 

  • Attend school online with an internet-enabled Chromebook. 

  • Classes take 3-4 weeks to complete, and they can work on them anytime and anywhere. Two classes are assigned at a time. 

  • The multi-tiered system of supports helps students navigate academic and life challenges so they can focus on school. A variety of virtual and in-person events are hosted so students can get extra support and meet other students in the program.

Florida-certified teachers who help students explore their interests and master course concepts

Full IT support to answer questions about program-provided Google Chromebooks & the student portal

Academic Coaches who build personalized education plans and monitor student pace and progress

Local Advocates who help students navigate social-emotional challenges
